Established through a collaborative, diaspora-led effort by community leaders, the day reflects a grassroots commitment to fostering global engagement and cultural pride.

With more than 40 events already confirmed across 14 countries, International South African Expat Day is gaining strong international momentum.

Communities are encouraged to showcase their celebrations—whether through cultural events, networking gatherings, or traditional braais—as a way of highlighting the vibrancy of South African identity abroad. This is an opportunity to build bridges, deepen global connections, and celebrate the enduring spirit of ubuntu, uniting South Africans across borders in a shared expression of pride, diversity, and community.
